We spent three years in our first home. A 1950s ranch home, it was where I learned the ropes of DIY and renovation. We were the second owners of the home and we brought many parts of it into the 21st century. It was where we brought our first child after he was born. It was where we started new jobs. It was a place we called home.
We moved into our current home exactly three years after we moved into our first home. Something about Labor Day weekend says moving day to us. This home is much newer, having been built in the 1960s. Yet again, we are the second owners of this house, and have lots of updates planned. The difference with this one is, we plan to take things much slower. We want to learn the house and what we want from it before we dive in – even with a can of paint.
