I love home design.  For as long as I can remember, my dream was to become an architect.  I would spend hours and hours on the floor of my parents’ house drawing floor plans for homes and buildings.  I owned every home plan magazine and book that the store sold, and I had every intention of making that dream come true.

In college I came to the realization that I did not, in fact, want to be an architect.  I loved choosing finishes for buildings and coming up with ideas for what those buildings could look like, but I hated the details.  Determining load structures and doing sun/shade tests on sugar cube towers was not working for me.

So I switched.  I finished a degree in Religious Studies and now work a day job for a great church.  I get to do some graphic design work, which keeps my skills tuned, and I get to be immersed in something that I believe is of utmost importance – faith.

I’m still trying to figure out what my dream is.

But in the meantime, I get to spend my free time with my amazing family working on turning our second house into our new home.
